Remec is an open-source Iot (Internet of things) application which tranforms your android device into a custom computer remote control with your own design. You can design your own remote interface and its key combinations. Decorate it with images or labels to help remember each button using the Remec desktop application and save it to your local machine. When the remote is ready, open the Remec android application to get ready for tranfering the remote design into your mobile.

Desktop

• Add/remove command buttons.
• Import images from your computer, or use the capturing screen function to crop a part of your screen as icons.
• Saving remote profiles into your local machine, and/or share your remote to other people.
• Open exiting remote profiles to edit or use.
• Open/close remote connection to enable/disable android device connecting to your computer.
• Transfer your remote design to your android device.

Android

• Search for available hosts name and IP-address.
• Connect to a specific IP-address.
• Receive remote profile from host's computer, and adjust the interface to match with the profile.
• Invoke the commands on host's computer when taping on the buttons.
• Disconnect automatically when the host computer disabled the remote connection.

For Desktop

Make sure you already have Java version 8 or above.

For Android

Make sure your device installs android SDK 21 version 5.0(Lollipop) or above.
You can check in your device by go to Settings > About phone > Android version
This can be used with any screen resolution , it will automatically resize to your andriod device.

In your android, go to Settings > Security > and check Unknown Sources to allow your phone to install apps from sources other than the Google Play Store.
